2020: Words and the Spaces Between

This year’s cohort will use the poetry of Naomi Nye and other writings to explore the “spoken” aspect of spirituality, as well as discover spiritual practices that invite spaciousness in body, mind, and spirit.

“I have always loved the gaps, the spaces between things, as much as the things.… Poetry calls us to pause. There is so much we overlook, while the abundance around us continues to shimmer, on its own.” – Naomi Nye

Explore this quote as a metaphor for spiritual life. Come delve deeply into words and the spaces between them.

Leah Thomas is the facilitator of Exploring Spiritual Practices. Leah holds a Ph.D. in Pastoral Care and teaches at Lancaster Theological Seminary. Input will be received from various speakers, but Leah will walk alongside the cohort throughout the year.

Exploring Spiritual Practices

Exploring Spiritual Practices is a year-long program to allow time to focus on, learn about, and apply spiritual practices to your own life. Each year will have a different focus and theme. It will cycle through teaching on specific practices, implementing routines into your own life, and reflecting on the journey.

Each cohort will remain together through five in-person, day-long sessions and four online video discussions, allowing real relationships to form.
