Led by Kimberlee Peifer, PRC’s Director of Contemplative Practices and Prayer
Whether you are brand new to meditation or a seasoned meditator, this course will review the basics of meditation and give you the confidence and inspiration to begin your own meditation practice.
Throughout the course, we will explore the book, Christian Meditation: Your Daily Practice by Laurence Freeman, OSB. Each week we will study and discuss two chapters. Chapters include:
What is Prayer?
The Christian Tradition of Meditation
The Fruits of Meditation
Progress: The Journey
We will end each evening with 15-20 minutes of meditation.
The book is not required, although it is recommended, to help deepen your experience and strengthen your meditation practice throughout the series. To purchase the book as part of your registration, please select that option below.
Kimberlee Peifer has a BS in Kinesiology and a Masters in Health Education from Penn State University. She is certified in both Spiritual Direction and Formational Prayer, and as an RYT-200 hr yoga teacher. In addition to her work at PRC, she continues in her role with Saint James Episcopal Church as Associate for Contemplative Prayer and Practice.
She most recently worked at Kavanna House in York and on a farm at Lancaster Farmacy. Kimberlee is passionate about continuing on her own contemplative journey with God, and helping others do the same, by deeply listening, being in silence together, and exploring spiritual practices.
