Led by Janie Swinehart, Assistant District Attorney , Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office

This workshop will feature a brief overview of the laws that cover cyber-related crimes, specifically regarding image sharing and what are commonly known as sexting and sextortion. Participants will leave with a better understanding of several social media platforms and ways that people – both young and old – can safely engage with them.

Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart has worked in the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office for ten years. The bulk of her current caseload is focused on prosecuting cyber-crimes. It is from that experience that she speaks about safely engaging social media and the internet. She is a longstanding member of the Lancaster County Campaign Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children (CASE).  She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law.
